ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the prevalence and predictors of delayed function independence (DFI) in patients with acute vertebrobasilar artery occlusion (VBAO) achieved successful recanalization after endovascular therapy. Methods:Patients with acute VBAO received endovascular treatment in the Departments of Neurology, the First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology and General Hospital of Eastern Theater Command, PLA from December 2015 to December 2018 were retrospectively enrolled. The demographic, clinical, laboratory and imaging data were collected. Early functional independence (EFI) was defined as the modified Rankin Scale score 0-2 at discharge, and DFI was defined as the modified Rankin Scale score 0-2 at 90 d after discharge for non-EFI patients. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to determine the independent predictors of DFI. Results:A total of 122 patients with acute VBAO were included. Their age was 61.8±11.9 years old and 91 (74.6%) were male. The median Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score was 7, the median National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was 26.5, and the median posterior circulation Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score (pc-ASPECTS) score was 9. Twenty-four patients (20.0%) had EFI; of the 98 patients with non-EFI, 18 (18.4%) had DFI. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that male (odds ratio [ OR] 0.038, 95% confidence interval [ CI] 0.002-0.658; P=0.025), cardiogenic embolism ( OR 0.116, 95% CI 0.023-0.579; P=0.009), baseline NIHSS score ( OR 1.136, 95% CI 1.040-1.242; P=0.005) and lung infection ( OR 6.089, 95% CI 1.451-25.562; P=0.014) were the independent predictors of DFI. Conclusions:Nearly 1/5 of the non-EFI patients have DFI. Male, cardiogenic embolism, lower baseline NIHSS score and without pulmonary infection are the independent predictors of DFI.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of Xuebijing injection on inflammatory factors, oxidation stress level and thrombosis risk in patients with acute non-ST elevation myocardial infarction(NSTEMI). METHODS:A total of 130 NSTEMI pa-tients selected from our hospital during May 2015-Aug. 2016 were divided into control group and observation group according to random number table, with 65 cases in each group. Control group was given routine treatment as lowering blood pressure,lower-ing lipid, anticoagulation and antiplatelet. Observation group was additionally given Xuebijing injection 50 mL,ivgtt,q12 h,on the basis of control group. Both groups were treated for a week. The levels of inflammatory cytokines(TNF-α ,IL-6,IL-10, hs-CRP),SOD,MDA,MMP-9,platelet aggregation rate and fibrinogen were observed in 2 groups before and after treatment. The treatment course, the occurrence of MACE and bleeding event were also recorded. RESULTS:Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in the levels of inflammatory factors,SOD,MDA,MMP-9,platelet aggregation rate or fibrinogen between 2 groups(P>0.05). After treatment, the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,hs-CRP,platelet aggregation rate or fibrinogen in 2 groups were decreased significantly, while the level of IL-10 was increased significantly;the improvement of above indexes in observation group was significantly better than control group. The levels of SOD and MMP-9 in 2 groups were increased significantly, while the level of MDA was decreased significantly. The level of SOD in observation group was significantly higher than control group, while the level of MDA was significantly lower than control group, but the level of MMP-9 was significantly lower than control group, with statistical significance (P0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Xuebijing injection shows signifi-cant therapeutic efficacy for NSTEMI,effectively inhibits inflammation, and oxidative stress and reduces the risk of thrombosis with good safety.

ABSTRACT

Acidic environment of organelles of eukaryotic cells plays an important role in endocytosis, the secretion of lysoso-mal enzymes and other physiological activities.V-ATPase (vacuolar ATPases) and CLC (chloride channel) family are widely distribu-ted and present in virtually all eukaryotic cells in intracellular membranes and in the plasma membrane. They are responsible for the a-cidification of the vesicular interior. In this paper, the distribution, structure, mechanism of action and physiological and pathological significance of V-ATPase and CLC protein are discussed.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relationship between the incidence and grade of diabetic nephropathy (DN) and diabetic retinopathy (DR) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods A total of 154 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (80 males and 74 females) were investigated, ocular fundus were examined after mydriasis, at the same day, blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, glycosylated hemoglobin, blood fat, serum albumin were determined, the microalbuminuria and the glomerular filtration rate were performed. Results The incidences of DR with each stage were significantly different according to different DN stages. Univariate analyses revealed that the disorder of DR was positively correlated with the duration of diabetes, microalbuminuria, blood cholesterol (P<0.01 or <0.05), and negatively correlated with the glomerular filtration rate (P<0.01). Conclusion The incidence OFDN and DR has the highly concordance, and their lesions have some parallel relationship.

ABSTRACT

Objective To provide the initiative experimental reference for resource utilization of Cynanchum komarovii by biological technology. Methods Using root, stem, and leaf of C. komarovii as explants, the proper media for inducing of callus were optimized by orthogonal test. In culturing process for proliferation of callus, the fresh and dry weights were determined at various times and callus growth curve was drawn. Meanwhile, division test of callus was taken. Results Root callus test showed the best effect in successful inducing percentage of 90%-100%. The best media combination of stem and leaf were MS+2,4-D 1.0 mg/L+6-BA 2.0 mg/L+NAA 0.5 mg/L and MS+2,4-D 0.5 mg/L+6-BA 0.5 mg/L+NAA 0.5 mg/L. The stem segament was more easily induced than leaf. The callus induced by various treatments is in loose character and fresh yellow colour with no brown phenomenon. At day 10 the growth entered the exponent period of callus offspring, the maximal fresh weight to 4.961 g and the dry weight to 0.496 g. The division rate of callus was rather low and not easy to shoot. However, the nail root was commonly seen in the test. Conclusion The root is proved to be the best explants in the test of inducing callus, which shows the best medium of stem and leaf for forming the callus. The growth of callus is bigger, but the division is not easy.

ABSTRACT

AIM: To search for new candidate partners of human cell division cycle gene 14A (hCDC 14A) and explore their functional relationships.METHODS: Yeast two-hybrid screening was employed to find hCDC 14A new partners. Physical interaction between two proteins was verified using Pulldown and co-immunoprecipitation assays. Subcellular localizations were revealed by immunofluorescence. In vivo ubiquitination test implied their potential functional relationship.RESULTS: BRAP2 (BRCA1 associated protein 2) was found to be a new candidate partner of hCDC 14A. hCDC 14A was modified by ubiquitination, and BRAP2 increased this modification in vivo. As expected, hCDC 14A and BRAP2 co-localized on mitotic spindles in HeLa cells.CONCLUSION: BRAP2 may be an ubiquitin E3 ligase of hCDC 14A.
